So I'm a complete n00b, and am building my first pedal and have a question.
I'm trying to build a fuzz factory clone from this veroboard layout on http://revolutiondeux.blogspot.com/2010/06/zvex-fuzz-factory.html

Instead of ordering ac128's (which I couldn't find on the small bear website) I substituted this with small bear matched pnp sino transistors (http://www.smallbearelec.com/servlet/Detail?no=680).
When I got my package, the transistors came with a set of resistors that were matched with the transistors.
The values are:

R3 - 22k
R4 - 680
r5 - 12k
r6 - 100k

The values in the diagram are:

r3 - 470
r4 - 47k
r5 - 10k
r6 - 220k

Can I assume that they are direct subs?
Should I use the ones they gave me or should I stick with the ones that are in the diagram?  I've heard that the fuzz face and fuzz factory are similiar, but it looks like there are substantial differences in R3 and R4.

For the record, I'm not too concerned with the end product, sounding exactly like a fuzz factory, I just was looking for a fuzz that could a bit wacky if needed.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance

Apologies. When I first replied, I did not pick up that you were cloning a Fuzz Factory. While our matched pairs are known to work in that circuit, we will not assist with cloning it because it is Zach Vex's design. I will say that your best bet is to breadboard so that you can change resistor values easily.

No...It would seem the set of resistors SB gave you correlate to the Fuzz Face ones

R3 - 22k (33K)
R4 - 680 (470)
r5 - 12k  (8.2K)
r6 - 100k (100K)

though, I'm not sure why the need to alter R4.

regardless, you'd sub Q1 and Q2 into the Factory Q3 and Q4 respectively

You'd have to find the correct Fuzz Factory transistor voltages to tweak those resistors.
always think outside the box

I didnt use the resistors SB supplied for my madbean fuzz factory and it worked / sounded great!
