Hey all. I've been reading this forum for a long time and finally had the courage to try a project. I started out with a GGG kit, and hopefully will move on from there if I can get things figured out. I apologize in advance for the really basic question and for my ignorance.

I got the board populated, got the switch and jacks wired up, and it works. That surprised me! Bypassed audio sounds fine. When I engage the pedal, the pedal works. I can adjust the trimpots and they affect the tone. It actually sounds good. Except... a very bad hum coming from somewhere. It sounds similar to the hums I've had on guitars with grounding issues. (I should note that I'm using this in a setup I use daily, and I've tested cables, the guitar, etc, just in case... the problem is with the OSQ).

Basically, when the pedal is engaged I can't make the hum go away. It's actually louder when the pedal is on AC power, and a little more subtle when the pedal is on battery, but still too much (especially for a "clean" effect). All the solder joints look good, and are true to the kit's instructions. I'm hoping someone here might have ideas where to troubleshoot next because I'm lost.

If it helps, here is a sound clip I just recorded: http://soundcloud.com/jaredcohen/osq-test --- what you'll hear is Bypass -> AC -> Bypass -> 9V.

Thanks so much guys.
