Hey guys,

Just finished my F2B preamp with Ecc83 tube - i used the stock schematic but i designed my own PCB (needed some specific dimensions). 12V DC supply @ 1.2A used for heaters and for SMPS supply - anode voltage is 280v.

Some pictures and 2 sound clips - one with cabsim and one without (directly into sound card, the guitar used was a Squier Strat SSS).

Hey guys, just made another project, this time using 6N16B double triode - the main schematic is a Matchless HotBox (was done as an experiment ), the PCB it's done by me. The only difference between this and Matchless is that i used a BigMuff tonestack (i was a little lasy when i was making the PCB). So here there are some pictures and a little sound clip - the clip was recorded useing the ROG CondorCabsim.

Great looking and sounding  builds.  :D
Especially the Matchless-type built with 6n16b tubes.  I´ve got some lying around here, I want that sound too !
One question however :
Have you allready built one of these in an enclosure ?  If yes is there any noise-issue when using this SMPS ?
I´ve built a McTube with this SMPS,  cool sounding but when I assembled  it inside an aluminium enclosure I got  noise.

No noise in a Al enclosure - use a copper band over the SMPS and use a separate PCB for SMPS ... you should have no problems with that.. ohh and one more thing IF you use the enclosure as a termal radiator for IRF (or any other fet that u may use) don't it will act as a antenna - better go down with HIgh Voltage and keep them cool but don't stick it to the enclosure even if you use a ceramic foil and some thermal grease.
