sincere apology in advance for the lameness quotient of this thread .

got one for 2 bux .

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkJOsB37Q2A&feature=player_embedded

i ( of course ) have to try and run a guitar signal thru it , possibly mod it into a " pedal " but .... man am i lame .

anyway , whats the best / simplest ways to run guitar signal thru stuff like this ?

i have 5 hanna montanna echo guitars , they have mic jacks with a delay , a head phone jack and a speaker , just like this thing .

curious about the output as well . go out of the headphone jack or speaker ? just cut in a pot ?

look at this :

*feels better * ( a lil )

what a looser i am , you guys are building phase 2's and sh*t in here , i post this , sorry .  :-\

p.s. i got an EV force 12 pa/bass speaker at salvation army for 8.50 , new in box ... so it wasnt so bad :)

I totally agree with the top comment on the first video. :icon_lol: :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

But the mics effects may be kind of cool to hear a guitar through. I'm curious if the harmonizer would be glitchy. I don't think it's stupid to post this so don't apologize, it's somewhat interesting ;)

I'm sorry sir, we only have the regular ohms.

i kid , but still ... so many times stuff like this seems like a great idea in store , but ... often there are better uses of your time , which is my surplus lately so , its also a ' fun ' time killer idea , but . if it doesnt work well , then it was a waste .

the whole " paper jams ' line , it just makes me ill , i believe this truly is a sign of the apocalypse :

i saw a pale rider , on a dark horse he rode , with a Paper jamz  guitar strapped to his back he read the final spell thru a Wowee pro mic auto-tune and watched as the abyss opened and hence forth sprung the minions of leviathan , and the thing that shall not be named was pleased .

I experimented with a Paper Jamz amp that didn't have effects like your mike. I'm not sure where the effects are placed in the Paper Jams mike's signal chain.  See my thread here:  http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=97012.0

If the mike has the same amp chip, you'll need to boost the guitar signal quite a bit. If you have a practice amp or other device that amplifies enough to drive headphones, run that signal to the input of the PCB that has the amp on it. Start off with the guitar volume off and slowly increase until it sounds right.

Two bux for auto-tune, sheesh.

Bust the pop-screens off, let's see the microphone element.

I am sure it will need a buffer and a turn-down pot to accept e-guitar.

Petey - turn those 5 Hanna's into pedals!!!! That what both of my pedals in the video are based on. To get the "Megladon" - the light green one, just do most of the things we talked about in pm's:

Remove the resistor that controls the echo. I think its a 10 k from memory. Insert 100K B pot. Echo's get wild and distorted at extreme settings. Turn the "echo" knob of the Hannah all the way and just leave it as a trim pot inside the box to tinker with. Turn the other 2 Hannah knobs to taste as trimpots, or desolder them and put them on the outside of the case.

- Maybe find a bend or two. I have an oscillation bend on the Megladon.

- disable the auto turnoff battery save feature.

- makes for a cheap but fun run in with the 2399 chip!

Warning though, on some Hannahs, I can make the EXACT same bends and the 386 chip heats up very quick, and other Hannah's with the same board work fine...

yes indeed , i have one modded out as the echo channel for my bench sound system . i looked at the data sheet , or i think just licked my finger and hit resistors and found one for feedback as well . ti think i used a 100k pot for that as well , but .

did you put anything in front of it ?

i think i used a tillman in front on one i put in a mini amp    i did . it helps .

i want to find the best / cheapest / simplest circuit i can use to front end stuff like this , maybe throw together a dozen , assembly line style . its cool they have an lm386 too , so u can power a lil speaker . maybe swap that out for a better version of the 386 . i am thinking they would make great back ends to apc's and such .

gonna be busy upgrading amps for a while , but this is on the list . will post up eventually , and do a video if its worth it , but ...

i had a barbie guitar for 1.24 , they look very similar to the HM ones , but i set it down and forgot it . they had an HM as well , but it was 2.50 , thats too much .  :icon_razz:

No, I didn't put anything in front. They're great just the way they are. You have to get a bigger case to accomodate the circuit board though. The ones in the video are from the shack.

petey twofinger

try one with a tilman sometime tim . or if you have a stock boss pedal with a buffer in it , its the same effect . you can really notice it with a clean tone . it helps it sparkle :)
