Okay.....this should be very elementary but....I can't get this thing to work right! When I power the circuit up and push the momentary switch the LED shows a faint light for a fraction of a second. The flip flop isn't flipping or flopping! I've checked and rechecked my double checking! I have all of the unused input pins grounded and the unused outputs Q2 (pin 13) and Qbar2 (pin 12) floating.

I'm using the common circuit that's available everywhere. Here's the schematic posted at Geofex. (Thanks R.G.)   http://www.geofex.com/article_folders/cd4053/cd4053.htm

The circuit I'm bread boarding is the third schematic down. (Using the 4013 to control the 4053)

I'm using the exact component values. I've tried using pull downs of different resistances on the input, Q, and Qbar outputs. No change.

I got it "working" by taking out the .01uf de-bounce capacitor, but as you could imagine it doesn't work in a consistent fashion.

Has anyone else had problems getting this seemingly no brainer circuit to go? If so, what's the secre
I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

Well that was easy!

I replaced the .01uf debounce cap with a .1uf

Now I can't get it to misfire no matter how many times, how hard or soft, or for what duration I push the momentary switch!

It's a good day after all!
