Hi, sorta new here but I've been lurking for a while. I'm wondering if anyone has tried the NTE126 as a Rangemaster substitute or the NTE158 in Fuzz Face clones. These are the substitutes listed for the OC44 and AC128 on the NTE website. They are a bit expensive from Mouser etc. but if they are high quality they could be useful.

Any opinions on this?

Well the 158's at least...built a booster the other day turned out great.
The gain of the transistors needs to be found and matched to the ckt for best results..see tech of the Fuzz Face and Tech of the Rangemaster at GEO.
So if they are the right gains, etc. ... yes, they might work well...I would recommend Small Bear for the finickey Ge tranny's for FF's and the like..
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Yeah, I have already used several Ge transistors from Small Bear and they turned out great.
