Im almost finished with the obsidian t.. But I realized that theres nowhere I can find  .003uF and 470pF caps. Are these caps critical? If not what can I subtitute for those?

Hi,

I find that caps have such a big tolerance that often, even if you have the "correct" value, when you measure it, it is off.

The 470p is to tame some of the fizz and probably high frequency interferences. a a little less will elt more highs through. A little more and it will let less through. Not a big deal. Try a few until you find one that satisfies you.

The 0.003u is part of the tone control. If you can find a 3.3nF you should be ok. But feel free to experiment here as well.

thanks! so it means it could get a little warmer sounding if I change the 470pF cap?

Yes, if warm for you means with less treble ;-)

I have not tried the obsidian, but for example in a Fuzz Face type circuit it removes a bit of the harshness, especially when using silicon trannies.
