Question on Jameco quality

I am a relative newbie that has only built 4 pedal so far.  I did read the facts before posting but I will apologize in advance if I in inadvertently missed a rule.

I have been buying my supplies from mammoth and am quite pleased with their service and quality.  However on doing some research the prices I see listed for Transistors, capacitors and IC's  at Jameco seems to good to be true.  Plus they are closer to my location for I assume faster shipping.  I do realize that most of their product has a minimum order amount ( 10 or more) but I do not mind since I am in the process of stocking up on common components.

So basically it looks like the deals are to good to be true so I wanted to figure out what the deal is.  Are their components good quality?

I've ordered from Jameco a few times and have nothing but good things to say about them. Good prices on many things, huge selection, fast and reasonable shipping as well.

They also supply something that's very important to the type of building that I do. And it's free!
PDFs of all of the parts that they sell. I route my own boards, (and fit big things into small packages) so having PDFs of the components I plan to use is an invaluable tool.

I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

Jameco is a major supplier and they have been around for a long time... Places like Mammoth, SB and others most likely get some of their parts from there. They stock huge quantities and not just geared towards pedal builders..
Doesn't matter what you did to get it... If it sounds good, then it is good!

guess you haven't seen Tayda yet...

uncommon IC's are the only thing you may have to ponder...according to alot of DIY-ers, the quality varies from place to place

for basic pedal needs, transistors (silicon), caps, resistors can be bought almost anywhere
always think outside the box

Jameco has been an excellent supplier for as long as I can remember.

My first IBM-comparable PC was a Jameco kit, around 1983. I went with them after years of good caps and transistor orders.

They are building the kind of strong commercial business that a distributor needs to stay busy.

OTOH they have stocks of excellent but unfashionable parts they need to move out cheap.

They also periodically send out emails linking to interesting little DIY projects, some if not all presented by some Forrest guy.
