My whole philosophy on eBay bidding is to set a maximum price I am willing to spend for the item and put that in as my MAX bid. If someone wants to spend more... so be it. I didn't want to pay more than my max anyways. Snipe all you want... if you "snipe bid" more than my maximum.... YOU GOT IT!!

+1 on that. My philosophy as well. Problem with sniping is when you get sucked in. Next thing you know, your wallets thin, and you've got a bad case of buyer's remorse.

Speaking of Ebay, scored a sweet deal last week. Finally found a rack case to hold all my gear, plus a bit more. New, store demo, and right here in my own province. $299. Shipping was $75, bought it Friday, and got it this morning.



The back and front lids hook onto the sides, and have legs that fold down, instant tables.



There's one Matrix unit missing from the top (on the bench), so I only have 1U space left. The bonus is the top space of pedals. They all plug into the #1 Matrix unit, which I control via MIDI.

And that's it... for AT LEAST the next five Christmas'

Good luck Jimi! On the note of sniping.... I do what Greg does, but I snipe it in at the last sec. That way you don't have time to increase your bid, and neither does anyone else. If you get outbid, so be it.

yah, i do the same. i figure what i'll consider spending on it, and bid accordingly. sometimes i win, and win big, sometimes my butt hurts.

i bid to win; if i do, so be it. if somebody wants to bid more than what i considered my max, all the power to them!!

i MAY bid a little higher in some cases...but you definitley need to know when to walk away. it's a buyer's market, so if  i'm picking something up that might get turned over cuz i don't care for it, i don't wanna make it so i'm losing too much on it.

Me, I wouldn't wait until Christmas to get right-angle 1/4" plugs for those patch cables, then you could put the lids on with it all patched up and not have to worry about pressure on/damage to the plugs and chassis jacks so much. Save you some setup time.

Ebay is tough. I make a promise to myself not to go above a predetermined price I set for myself on any given item I "think" I need. If that price is exceeded, I walk away from the computer. Its hard to do, but it works.
