Best Solder Tip for PCB/Protoboard

I'm looking to get a new solder tip for doing final boards that go in the pedals. I've been using the stock tip that came with my Weller WLC100 and while it's wide and great for cables, it makes messy work of a circuit board/protoboard that I use in the final enclosures.

Which size would be the best to get?

I like a chisel solder tip, maybe about 0.040" to 1/16" (1 to 1.5mm) wide for PCB work.  I think you'll find it's personal preference though.

Now I use a conical tip. Something like this:

I agree....personal preference but.....there are better tips for some things. Ask the SMT guys. They use a blunt conical tip to hold the solder.

I suggest trying different tips and stick to one that suits you best.

1/32" conical is my fave. i use it for amp work as well. you may have to hold it on there longer to heat up old solder, but for fine work, this is the smallest i could find. going back to 1/16" feels like soldering with my thumb

I've just switched to that tip after using chisel tips for years and it is a treat.

1/32 conical here...

I looked up the exact tip I use. ST7 which is a 1/32 conical.

I would consider using another tip only if held at gunpoint!
