You know I haven't drawn one up yet , I started but didn't get far. I think I'm gonna try to take a break from remodeling today and I'll see what I can do later tonight to draw something up. No guarantee's that it will be correct haha I'm not good at drawing these things up yet.

But I followed the schem at the effects database and you can see the resistor change and jumping the IC over to use both sides. So I'm sure a smart guy like you could hash it out faster then I can draw a schem haha. But I will work on it cause its good practice .

On a side note I got the superfly submini amp running better last night at 220v and ran the mutron V through it for a few and man it was sweet! I didn't get any recordings of it with the mutron I ended up moving it across the room for a different speaker cab to record and went in direct no pedals for a few short video runs. So maybe after I draw a schem up and set up the superfly ill record a test with the Mutron V and the new amp!

Has anyone else built this yet ? Or any of the layouts posted in this thread ? Would love to hear the outcome and peoples thoughts on it. I did a side to side with the mutron III and this V and they both have their place but overall the V seemed to fit the bill better. I played a little on ninjam the other night with a friend and used the micro V an orange squeezer and a TS and had lots of fun. I would suggest not using a compressor with an envelope filter though. It hinders the dynamics and sweep of the filter. The sound of just clean guitar and the envelope filter is one of my favorite sounds! It really expresses the dynamics when playing with an overdrive after it too.

Good luck rob , I'm gonna try to open mine up again soon and plug in some jumper wires to the OTA socket and see if I can get 2 or 3 lm13700's running together in this!

cool nice one jim,  i just need it so i can bread it, and try out a few things...cheers man. 8)

What software does everyone use to draw schematics ? I'm having problems in expresspcb. Eagle I need to spend more time in seems a longer process to pick out components I want to place.

Only changes from this schem really are R16 500K instead of 1M and the OTA is a dual and all you do is jump the left side to the right side on pins that are connected to something.

Things I would play with on the bread board would be leave r16 at 1M and change R17 to a 2.2K or something around half of 4.7k Just an idea woth testing.

I'm sorry sir, we only have the regular ohms.

deadastronaut

ok, i'll redraw it out later, just so my eyes can focus on it without all the jacks n perpheral stuff..cheers jim. ;)

what is 'tp1' off of Q2 emitter?

edit: damn it, haven't a 9.1v zener!.. :)

TP1 is a test point, should be around 4.5V, like the Vref bias voltage. You won't need the zener for a breadboard, it is there in case someone plugs say 11V into the pedal.

deadastronaut

aha....brilliant!..i'll crack on then, cheers man. back later with lots of ?'s   ;)

Don't forget to change R16 from 1M to 470k/500k or you won't get much sweep.

deadastronaut

gotcha!..made a note on printout. :)

any thoughts on 'reverse sweep?

hmmm... will 2n5088's  and a 2n3906 work on this?

I can't see any problem with that. Have no idea on a reverse sweep method. You'll need someone with a fair bit of experience to work that out, I think. I don't even understand how the filter works, or what its called, I would love to know.

Maybe if you can find an envelope filter that uses an OTA and has a reverse sweep function, we could hash something up that might work.

When I was building this I tried a bunch of transistors and heres what I ended up using

Transistors

Q1-2n5089 Hfe 104
Q2-2n5089 Hfe 106
Q3-2n5087-2N3906 Hfe 80

I used the 2n3906 in Q3 and those are the hfe my cheapo MM read out at. I did have some 5087's on hand at the end but had already found the 2n3906 to be working great so I never tried out a 5087 yet. But in the next few days Ill open it up and test out more OTA's and the 5087s

I can't wait to hear other peoples ventures with this circuit. I hope it lives up to what you expect!

ive breaded it twice, but no filter as yet,  (5088/3906, i'll have to give up for now as i'm getting ready to get pissed. yay!!!!.

happy new year guys!!!! hic!.. :P

Many thanks to Jim, Ian, et al who have contributed. I breadboarded this tonight and it worked first time (which is always great!) and sounds cool.
