for anyone who is interested...

My latest build; a tube driven rangemaster, which is basically a valvecaster with a few values changed, running into an NPN (2N388) dallas rangemaster with a switchable input capacitor. Gets a really nice sound.

The 20awg cloth wire might be a bit of overkill, but it looks cool, and ive got a thing for solid wire  :icon_confused:  :icon_biggrin:

Next on the build list is a dr. boogey. I tried to build it after my first project about 3 years ago, which was a little 386 based amplifier, and... well I certainly got my ambitions mixed up with my capabilities. After a few failed projects and then finally some working projects that I am really happy with, I think it is time to revisit the dr. boogey.

Ohm's Law - much like Coles Law, but with less cabbage...

Is the tube before or after the treble boost?

If before it will not have the tone shaping due to the guitar and cable interaction with the input of a treble boost like a RM circuit

Where did you get that sexy vintage looking wire? I have some in some early 70s tube amps so its not like I'll be harvesting that but I'd love to build with it!

Thanks everyone.

I built this for a friend, and having the tube before the rangemaster really nailed the sound that he wanted. I know that this isn't the 'traditional' (proper) way to do things, but he was really happy with it  :icon_cool:

I got the wire from http://www.newoldsounds.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=61_63 . Im pretty sure http://tubedepot.com/ have the same stuff, but their shipping to Australia was way to expensive for me.
