I opened the pot and tried the no load trick but even that didn't work.
Does that suggest that the signal is leaking in elsewhere ?  What happens if you disconnect the wire from the wiper ?

The only thing I found that actually worked was disconnecting the wire from the middle lug.

The wiper connects the delay signal directly to the output section. If disconnecting the wiper didn't kill the delay signal then I would say that this unit is possessed and needs more than a few resistors....It needs a Priest!
I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

I only asked because performing the no load mod to the pot is the same as disconnecting the wiper. Trying to establish if the no load mod has maybe only been partially successful.

If a priest is required, I can't help  ;D

Disconnecting the wiper did work. Maybe I'll have to revisit the no load mod. If all of that fails I'll install a switch somewhere.
The owner will be using it always on for his keys but he is also a guitar player so I must leave the option of it being a foot switch. All of the other work I did was just to fix some bad connections.

Bringing a new thought to the table...
What if I replaced the stock 10kB mix pot with a pot that clicks off? That would just remove it from the circuit right? And what other values could I get away with using if I can't find 10k?

thejoe

If anyone is still following this thread, I just ordered a 10k pot with a switch. My intention is that I'll connect the wet signal wire to the switch so it can be shut off. It all makes sense. Do any of you think that the switch would make too much of a popping noise? If so, what cap/resistor should I use to block some of it out?

Try switching the wiper. Connect a 1M resistor from the wiper side of the switch to ground.
