Gil,

Yeah, I saw that one a while back, posted some comments in that thread and started to make a board for it... I don't do vero so I still have to make a layout for it or I guess I could breadboard it. It does look very promising but, where are the #@/*ing sounds clips  ???  alexirae did a vero for it and said "verified" but yet again no sound samples....  :icon_evil:  What do we have to do to get people to post some sound clips around here? I mean you ain't gotta play like some guitar god ya know...  :icon_rolleyes:

This may help some of you...

Here are "my steps" to recording a quick pedal demo:
1.) Build pedal
2.) Roll up a phatty and smoke it (this is in celebration of building a new pedal and you only do this IF it works)
3.) Eat a bowl of Fruitloops (this is also done in celebration of building a new pedal and you only do this IF it works and because you will probably have the munchies from smoking the phatty)
4.) Take a good sh!t (clears my mind)
5.) Press f%#@ing RECORD (if you don't have a f%#@ing RECORD button just RECORD will do!)
6.) Beat the f%#~ing strings like a red headed stepchild (no offence to all you red headed step children)
7.) Upload the sound clip so we can hear your wonderful creation

You can skip steps 2, 3 and 4... those are just my personal methods.

I see a lot of pretty pictures around here but rarely hear any sound clips?? I mean that is the whole idea, right? Sound? playing guitar? or, did I miss something?  I can paint a turd and put knobs on it and stick some guitar cables in it but guess what!? It's a TURD! :icon_mrgreen:
Doesn't matter what you did to get it... If it sounds good, then it is good!

i confess, i'm guilty of skipping #5 and #7...
but i agree, if you cant hear it, then how do you know it's what your're looking for.
but in his defense, he's designed some nice stuff, and he posted some frequency plots so you can maybee extrapolate from that, after all its 'only' frequency your playing with for a cab sim, but i hear ya!
the plots do look good tho... don't know if thats enough to go on... fwiw apparently some of the vero layouts have errors, so check 'em against the schem

Also in defence of Dschwartz, there is a very nice soundclip in the first post of that thread....

BTW I just finished a supreaux deux/ROG cabsim combo.  It's their very simple cabsim, not the Condor. It sounds pretty good for quick recordings and playing through monitor speakers, it does the 'small amp' thing quite nicely.

I would record a soundclip but I need a large dose of multivitamins and a bowl of organic bran flakes first.

EDIT
Small amp thing, not small camp thing. That's something else. It doesn't do that. Bloody spellchecker.

ah, you're right about the sound clip! Sounds good btw! I remember the first time I looked at that thread the sound clip link was dead but now seems to have been restored!!

Excellent, good and fast work!
Nothing against, but want to offer own variant with some improvements:

Sergey - Lart

This is one of the best cabsims I have heard/built!!! Just bread boarded the "Simple CabSim" last night and !!WOW!! I figured I better bread board it before I etch it because I didn't want another blah cabsim... Guess what, it's getting etched and built asap!!! Highly recommend!!! Very happy! :icon_mrgreen:

Thanks for sharing!!

I don't have bc 560. Will bc 556,557,558 do the job?

Don't know? I would think not, read post#11 of this thread...? I just ordered 100 of the BC550C and BC560C from Mouser. Cost less than $15 plus shipping and took 2 days to arrive. :icon_wink:

I was looking for a "really good cab sim" to put inside various preamp stompboxes, no knobs, switches etc.. just really good sound. This is it! Sounds amazingly good and has a real good feel to it!!

The data sheet I looked at says BC558C has the same current gain as  560C, so that should work.

Ah, you're right Ian.. Just looked at the data sheet, may work fine... Didn't bother looking before I ordered since I didn't have anything listed except for the j201, so I just ordered what was on the bom..

I hope puzzle87 responds! He's been a member since 2005 and only 26 posts... I believe it's Sergey Luzan aka (Lart)? Well known and respected in the Russian forums and has made some really awesome stuff!!

It's not a biggie, I ll order bc 560, they are 4 euro cents per piece here in my country. But i wanted to test it this weekend.

SOrry about the necrothread ressurection.  I've been hunting all over for a simple cabsim that I can just incorporate into a pedal, and came across this.  As I don't etch and do everything on vero, I did it as my first effort in DIYLC.

I pretty much used J0K3RX's layout as a guide, hope you don't mind.  I haven't verified it, so if someone has nothing better to do, please go for it.  Seems a bit large to me but I have no idea of what I'm doing, and it's also 2am here.  I'd also love some feedback.

My two cents:

I like the Stoned Tone Bulldog for going direct to a PA system from my pedalboard.

I like the ROG Condor (slightly modified) for my various pedals into a headphone setup and/or recording direct to computer via recording program.

I havent made enough use of mine. I've been too busy building other stuff and learning Eagle and DIYLC to record much lately.
