diode question

Im starting to put together a love squeeze from the schematic here

i dont have any 1n4001 diodes would it be ok to use a 1n4007?

Please note i am not using the vero layout but the schematic with 2 ic's.

And btw can anyone tell me why if this bloke has made his vero layout suppisdly from the schematic why the vero layout only has 1 IC unlike the schematic?

The 1N4001 is only there for reverse polarity protection, so yes a 1N4007 will work just fine.

The schematic has 2 op-amp stages, but the actual circuit use a dual op-amp, two identical op-amps in the one package.

i dont get what you mean.
I was thinking i'd need 2x TL072.
Is that not the case because if not i need to figure out that vero thing. and how its all connected .
I have to admit veros screw with my brain (newbie here) i can never figure out how they work grrr

i hadnt noticed the little leg numbers next to the opamp connections i think i can manage it now. thanks for pointing that out

Thanks Bunny just what i needed.
because i've since looked up a schematic of an Ibanez TS808 and it too has a dual op amp but the schematic didnt give the pin numbers like the last one i looked at. So this drawing explains alot.
And just to be on the safe side i'll check the pinouts in future on google.

No probs.  At the rate you're consuming this information and using it (i.e. building lots of pedals!), a lot of this will become second nature.  It really does get easier and it really does start to make sense.  Check out quad opamps too: they're all the same, and a whole lot more symmetric than the duals - you shouldn't ever need to check pinouts for either.  But yes, definitely double-check pinouts for transistors: as I think RG has pointed out in another thread, they can be all over the place!
