I've got a few AC128's that have less than 40 hfe, and I'm wanting to get rid of them.  :icon_lol:
So are there any good fuzzes anyone knows about that do well with low hfe trannys? Thanks!

Arcane Analog

Once upon a time I would adhere to the suggested HFE/leakage for specific circuits. Now, I try to mix it up and experiment. I have found that the recommended numbers work but sometimes you can get better results picking your own.

Try those transistors in a FF/etc and see if you like what you hear. Experiment!

That buzzaround seems interesting. Same with a fuzz face, I'll go mess around.

If you're going for the Fuzz Face, a good variation for low hfe's is this

tho, it's a lot louder and nastier than a Fuzz Face.

maybe a FZ-1A? I am getting excited just thinking about it.

prob not...you'll need more leakage than low gain ones usually have
