Ok. Well i imagined it because i was thinking when i buy pedals i want the best value possible and i imagined other customers where the same.
I guess boutique really does mean premium prices then. Even better news for manufacturers.

So do i in a way, it sounds way to much like something i dont need and cant afford anyway.
I'd much rather make personalised pedals.

I've always hated that moniker and try to avoid using it.

Boutique
n
1. (Business / Commerce) a shop, esp a small one selling fashionable clothes and other items
2. (Business / Commerce) (modifier) of or denoting a small specialized producer or business a boutique operation a boutique winery
3. (Business / Commerce) a small specialized stall or shopping area within a supermarket, esp selling fresh meat, seafood, etc.
[from French, probably from Old Provençal botica, ultimately from Greek apothēkē storehouse; see apothecary]

#1: Ehh... Fashionable? I think that pedal function far outweighs fashion.
#2: Fits, but why don't we call small music stores boutiques as a rule?  How about a small business that sells custom trailer hitches?  "Bubba's Boutique Hitches"? Or the small business selling ball bearings- Barney's Boutique Balls???
#3: "Boutique" pedal makers aren't businesses within another business.
