I usually buy from Pedal Parts Plus. They have reasonable prices and shipping. However Mamoth seems to have great prices. Just wondering if they sell quality components?

I haven't purchased parts from "Mamoth" but I have bought parts from "Mammoth" and yes they are quality parts!
I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

+1... always good for me also. Missing a few parts now and then but always made good on it!
Doesn't matter what you did to get it... If it sounds good, then it is good!

they've only sucked when something gets back ordered. they will not inform you and will not give you the option to split into 2 shipments to get the parts that are in stock faster. and dont trust so much those stock quantity numbers either. other than that, all aces. best website/shopping cart ive come across for us pedal nuts.

I purchased from them a few times in the past. Had two bb's crack when drilling. Had to sand inside a bunch of knobs cause they were drilled through like crap and wouldn't fit on the shaft. Some toggles I bought were crap. Other parts were fine. My friend says their green 3PDTs are great.

But don't care for them much. I much prefer Small Bear, Pedal P P, and Mouser. Always the good quality stuff.

Mammoth used to be my source on parts until i got problems with the customs because they used big boxes(lots of extra space) making it looks like a big shipment.I mail them about the packaging instruction before the shipment but did not reply, making the problem happen. And when i mail them again about the packaging mistake,i get a line i will never forget "do your business somewhere else".So i did. I found Tayda, very clever when it comes to packaging and customer relations(they listen and see what they can do) . Reasonable prices too.Other sources are DIYstompboxes store, effectsconnection.Depends on the items needed.

Every order I have placed with Mammoth has been a pain - missing components or poor quality powdercoated enclosures or both. The customer service is pretty weak as well.

I have never had a single issue with Tayda. Dito for Small Bear. The customer service from Tayda and SB are extremely high as well.

I've only placed two or three orders with them over the last year or so... the most recent one I wanted two sockets for transistors and the sent me one. At least they didn't charge me for two, I guess. The site is easy to navigate, i always find what I'm looking for easy enough, and the shopping cart is edit friendly. Going to try some of the others mentioned in this thread just to compare.

I've been using them as my main supplier but have been having the same problems that many of the people on Mad Beans mentioned. Long wait times with no explanation, wrong or missing components from orders. One order they sent me a bunch of undrilled enclosures even though I ordered drilled ones. Their prices seem good though, so I need to try another supplier and see if it's worth the price increase.

I used to order almost everything from them!  I was turned off Mammoth late last year because of the shady-ness around their 'sale'.  They increased the price of the sale items (3pdt's and a few other things) while the sale was on, then lowered it again when the sale finished.  I witnessed this first hand, it happened!  And they came up with some BS excuse about 'run out items'.  It actually happened on all sale items and then magically switched back again at the end of the sale.  It was a grab for cash through dishonesty. It's just not acceptable in my books...

The only thing i buy from them now are switchcraft jacks and some alumiunium knobs.  As soon as i find a seller that has the switchcraft jacks for similar cost, i wont be ordering from them anymore.

I watched that as well. They provided a poor excuse for why that occurred - liquidating old stock to make room for new products. The price dropped to the regular price the day after the sale ended and they are still selling the same items. Mammoth has done similar bait and switch sales before. They have completely dishonest business practices, terrible customer service, poorly finished enclosures and the worst attention to detail in packing orders. They will never get another penny from me.

I may have visualized what you have done in this particular area.

.....aka... I see what you did there

you will always get better quality boxes and better quality powder coating if you go with pedal parts plus hammond boxes. I use them both. mostly mammoth now because yellow 1590BB 4site is so cheap. mammoth has much closer ties to 4site than PPP. 4site is actually doing powder for mammoth while PPP is buying raw 4site boxes. the yellow davies clone knobs at tayda match the yellow boxes at mammoth perfectly.

FYI

In regards to my enclosure purchase a fee posts above I called them and they stated that it looks like the backend wasn't updated to the new posted prices, and they are refunding me the difference

4Site and Mammoth are the same company. One caters to DIY buyers and the other to businesses.
