Altoid/candy tins have their own thread.  Is anyone using other household items to make fun stuff?

I've got one of these with a passive AB switch in :)

I never got round to giving it a bit more internal rigidity so it squishes a little bit before the foot switch clicks. Otherwise it works great :)
Piss poor playing is why i make pedals.

Put the mustard powder back in the tin, George!  That'll stop it squishing...

Or it will end up in small smoke machine, specialising in stinging the eyes of those at the front of the audience in a puff of yellow smoke... ;)

I guess candle wax in large quantities could work though? not much to go wrong in an AB box...

Nice move.  Keep the riff-raff away from your nice shiny instruments.   :icon_twisted:

Yeah, I guess so.  So long as you seal the jacks?

Here is an old CRT TV that I repurposed into a 12" speaker cab.  The Nintento on top houses a Electro Harmonics 22 caliber amp.

Ha! You could build effects in the game cartridges and swap 'em out! ;)

Cool stuff!!

Most of you have seen this, but this seemed an appropriate place to post it. It's a Noisy Cricket amp with a Tiilman Preamp, Umble Tonestack, and Solstice Reverb. It also has a 1-watt stereo amp for playing backing tracks through the onboard speakers. The speaker "cab" houses a 10" Jensen Mod speaker.

"For a good time.."  Hahahaha...

Ipod case, can't remember which model but now houses an audio tester, signal generator on one side and LM386 amp on the other. Circuit was from a library book on SMT projects.

Enclosures from sheet metal from an old desk drawer, which qualify as "household items", I guess.  If I could just figure out how to flatten curved sheet metal from tin cans and coffee cans, maybe a flattening jig is in my future, hmmmmm.......

Jdansti

^Nice enclosures!

This is a crappy pawnshop guitar I converted into a Guitar Hero game controller (PS2) about five years ago.

I have two flattening jigs. one looks like a block of wood, the other looks like a hammer.

bluebunny, I always wanted one of those giant old tvs to convert into a combo amp, just so I could paint an old test pattern onto the speaker grille cloth thing.

60% of the time it works everytime...

Jdansti

^ Very cool! :icon_cool:

If you ever get, like, another tin, how about, like, putting a Beavis Audio effect in it?   ;)
