Hi folks! I need tohear some advices about a new build. I played in a punk oi band and i need to get a fat overdrive (possibily with treble and bass control) or a decent distortion for rhythm and solo. I have several dist pedals (ds2, mt2, gv2, sd1, dod250,fuzz face, wooly mammoth, rat) and i usually play with valveking100 setted for the full gain performance, but i can't even bring with me all that stuff, so i need to get something similar in a box:

(My band and my first album, recorded with my vk100 and lp with hb, and a washburn g8v with seymour duncan distortiom, hope you like it ;) )

Thanks in advance guys!

The Wampler Ecstacy is mildly popular.
Has a bass control and a tone control.

Vero Layout from IvIark's blog.

I am not super fond of my build of it through my rig, but have heard some great demo's of it on youtube.

My favorite OD so far is the Son of Clay Jones Overdrive. Which is a clone of the Clay Jones Overdrive (Landgraff Dynamic Overdrive/Tubescreamer 808 modded) without the input and output buffers

My favorite right now is the AMZ Tweed Stack Preamp.  The controls are:  Gain - Treble - Bass - Volume

Here's a link to the project.. if you buy the PCB from Mr. Orman, you receive an official link with more details.  http://www.muzique.com/tech/tweed.htm

I have heard the wampler and the clay jones: the wampler sounds better to my hear than the clay jones, but they are too close to screamer...i'm searching for something more on the brown sound but with less bass...
For the amz tweed stack i haven't found a sample, can you post something? From the schematic i can understand that it can be interesting...

I read this post as:  Hey guys and gals, my name is guitarman89 and I want to build an AMZ Tweed Stack.

Hehehe..  :P

Because I have a small stash of ultra-super-cool NOS WIMA Film Capacitors, all with a value of .47µf, I didn't use any 1µf Caps in my Tweed Stack.  So, Gain and Bass is slightly reduced.  Also, I prefer 2N5457 FETs.  To quote you, "brown sound but with less bass".  High Gain overdrive (the design goal) is still achievable, but with more finess and control.
