DIY Attenuator / Small Diagram issue

At the bottom there's a diagram showing how to wire it, but I'm not certain enough about the unlabeled jack lugs to try it the way I think it is...
To me it reads that J1's top lug is the tip, and the bottom lug is the sleeve... and J2's top lug is the ring, middle one is tip, and bottom is sleeve. Is that right? Just trying to not blow up my amp. :D

Looks like the top lug is the tip and the bottom is the sleeve. On the output the other lug is not a ring, it's a switched tip connection so that when nothing is plugged in the output is grounded. I haven't read the document so I don't know why you'd want to do this, if you only ever use it with something plugged in to the output you don't need this connection.

Helps to protect the transformer a little if you forget to plug in the speaker, or if it came loose. I bought Neutrik jacks so I guess it just goes on the other side of the sleeve?
