Question about germanium transistors

I did a parts order for my next project, a fuzz factory. I ordered my ac128 transistors from mammoth. I'm not sure if they are matched? Is that important? Also what does it actually mean for them to be matched?

when you talk about transistors in a fuzz, "matched" usually means the correct gains/leakages to work well in the circuit they are "matched" for.
