Hi,
Could not find R.G. contact info on Geofex.  I think there might be a typo on the
http://www.geofex.com/Article_Folders/ffselect.htm
page.

Third section third sentence,
"You may find one that's closer to 2.472 ohms, which would be ideal."

Either a comma, no period, or missing K.  Everything else reads as 2.4K

Yep, there's a missing "K".

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

Since this topic is already open, I'll add that on the "Tech Tips" page ( http://www.geofex.com/tektips.htm ) the link to the "Quick and Dirty test oscillator" is 404. The current link points to: http://www.geofex.com/FX_images/q+dosc.gif and it appears it should point to: http://www.geofex.com/FX_images/q&dosc.pdf . I think I've come across a couple of other 404's in my recent reading, so if I come across those again I'll add those here also. I should also add, thank you R.G. for the incredible resource. I've learned so much from Geofex, I should probably have had to pay tuition...  ;D

If the contents of geofx were put into book form I would buy it.

There are many bugs. I weed them out as I find them. I do appreciate the help with that. One day, when I run out of things that REALLY, REALLY HAVE TO BE DONE NOW, and some of the things I want to do, just to freshen the mix, I'm going to give geofex a thorough going over. Meanwhile, point them out and I'll try to fix the ugliest ones fastest.

Now I just wish I'd taken typing in high school. When I was there, only girls took typing. If only I'd known what life skills I'd REALLY need.

I say the same thing to people ALL the time.  :D  When I was at high school typing was for the chicks.  I  did Home Economics (because I liked cooking) and I got cr@p for it as it was (but 30 years later I'm the only person in the family able to work a sewing machine!!!)

The Apple II (one of them) turned up the year before I left. :)  I now work in IT infrastructure, I'm a 5 finger typist. I can look away from the keyboard, but as soon as I realise I'm not looking at it it all turns to gibberish!

My kids (one at university now, and one in the last years of senior school) have not faced a compulsory typing subject, either, other than a quick brush with it in the "IT subjects" they did.

I'm so happy I learned to type properly. Most people in IT in Sweden seem to have typing skills, at least the ones where I've worked. Managers less so, but they're at their best when they're slowly typing away at some meeting protocol that no one'll ever read, so that doesn't bother me that much ;D

yeah when I was in high school it was mostly girls in the typing class, that's one of the reasons I took it...seriously though, it was one of the rare academic decisions I made that turned out to be a good one.  It's weird though, I got to where I could type 55 or so words a minute after a semester of typing class, years later I took a typing test for a job and still rated about 55 words a minute.  That was after years and years of college papers, creative writing classes, computer obsessiveness, etc.  You'd think I would've gotten a little better. there were a couple of girls in my high school class who could type over a hundred words a minute, that was on a real typewriter too, it's a scary thing to hear...
