People over here are talking about this pedal. I did a little search and noticed that Bogner said it didn't use the conventional diodes or FETs to generate the sound. Anyone check it out? Is this more voodoo speak or does it use "new technology"?

"Bogner says these are different tech, no diode or JFET distortion"

wait a minute!!!!

"Reinhold designed the Ecstasy blue pedal with four discrete Class A gain stages and with no op-amps or diode clipping, mirroring the circuitry of the Ecstasy amplifier's blue channel. This revolutionary approach provides clarity, touch sensitivity and note separation never before achieved in overdrive pedals"

WHERE HAVE WE SEEN THIS BEFORE!!!!!

It would be nice to know where... ;D

I think jfet... Doubt the Ecstasy blue is any different. BTW - There are more smt transistors on the board.

Looks like jfets stuck in the mud?
Doesn't matter what you did to get it... If it sounds good, then it is good!

WOW -  epoxy revisited!

yup.. revisited and revised! Those do look like jfets or the like entombed in the goop to me...

I'd like a lot to see what's under the epoxy

pics are not mine and I don't think the guy who owns them is gonna go that far with it... :icon_sad:

I just played it. It's very tame sounding. Everything is controlled and there are no radical tones in the pedal. It's a well made pedal. I didn't like the variac mode - way too squishy. Everything else was nice sounding.

Now I also played the SkinPimp Mk3 pedal and I liked that a lot. Reminded me of my old fuzzes. Need to make a new one.

Hilarious! I've thought of sealing my circuits in concrete.

Maybe it uses NPN or PNP Si transistors with controlled gain in the stages with EQ between stages?

The schematic will be available soon, I hope...

Did you play the Überschall too?

Maybe seal them in amber like a prehistoric mosquito, Jurassic Park style... :icon_lol:

most people say the uberschall is the best of the three, the demos sound good! Not many people like the red or the blue from the comments I have heard.

If people want a really good transistorized/jfet version of the Ecstasy you should try the 7theaven pedal... It's almost a direct 1:1 copy of the actual tube preamp and it sounds really good! It's one that made the transition from tube to jfet very well! The schematics are easy to find. :icon_wink:
