if i were to have a pedal that has two effects, one on when the other is off, would i just use the row of prongs that are usually just jumped for the other circuit and could i use pots that are used in one circuit on the other

haveyouseenhim

I would just use a dual ganged pot.

I don't know what you mean by "row of prongs".......Is that a band? bowl of prawns?  :icon_question:

And no you cannot use the controls from one effect to another...unless in certain circuits you do some fancy switching....but for the most part the answer is no!
besides....how useful would it be to have one effect engaged that has a control at a certain setting, then switch to the other effect and whatever that control is connected to has to be set where is was for the first effect. Answer: Not very useful.

Unless you are going to include a bit of silence, slamming a power chord, a fancy little dance while you are fiddling with knobs, use separate controls.
I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

when i was saying row of prongs i meant the prongs on the bottom of a 3PDT switch like how you have the effects board row, the signal row, and then the jumper row (sorry if that didn't help) and as for the control i was thinking of having both sharing the volume pot wasn't entirely sure if that would work to have them at the same volume level

slacker

Yes you can do that, remove the jumpers and put the second effect in there instead.

The "prongs" are called lugs.

Here is a link for wiring two effects in one enclosure.
