Hello to all, I want to etch a circuit board. It will be my first time and I'm already confused. Go figure. On this drawing the traces are red, the pads are black and the writing is gray and covers some traces. My question is, Won't the writing short out the traces? Or, will it be etched away because it is thin? The drawing for the board is below.

Or search, efm synthesizers pv-1

Thanks for the help. Joe.

Thank-you. Lastly, how do I determine the scale? There doesn't seem to be a reference size on the drawing? Joe.

The pins on a through-hole DIP (Dual Inline Package) IC like U01 and U02 are 0.100" apart in the row, and the rows of holes are 0.300" apart, very accurately.

In fact, getting the centers of those pads for the DIP ICs to be on 0.100" centers and rows 0.3" apart is probably the most exacting dimension on the PCB.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.
