I opened up my crybaby to see about adding a DPDT switch for true bypass, and swapping the old school 1/8" power jack for a modern Boss-style jack, and found two cut traces and a jumped. Looks like someone was trying to mod it. I picked this up used in the mid-90's and have never opened it up, except to change batteries. It works, but this doesn't look like any of the mods I've seen online, so I thought I'd ask around here and see if anyone has any thoughts...?

Here's a picture of the board:

It trips me out that it works like this. I have no idea what this particular mod is supposed to accomplish.

And help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Shawn B.

i think that is factory.

i pulled out the exact same board, except mine has the two mods incorporated into the traces. they did that to make it work, there were errors on the batch of boards that yours came in.
compare to the later one here:

every cut and the one jumper is now a permanent change on the board i have.

my first clue was the blue jumper wire. dunlop would have had that color handy since it went into their wahs. also, the cuts look like they were made quickly, as if someone sat down with a pile of boards and made the same cut 100 times in a row.

--- i knew that box full of old dunlop and thomas boards would come in handy some day.

( don't pay any attention to my mods, just look at the factory traces)

Good to know, thanks! Now I can move forward with planned mods without worrying about figuring out previous mods.
