I finally got all the parts together and breadboarded this thing. Turned a practice pad into a trigger with a piezo and everything.
It works great. Does exactly what it's sposed to. You can get alot of sounds out of it as is.

I tried adding a footswitch to connect pin 2 of IC2 to ground to get a continuous tone. After playing with it for a few days it pooped out. I replaced every semi-conductor in the circuit and it worked again. I don't know If I messed anything up or not. After I found one of the diodes wasn't working, dunno which one it was tho. Is there a better way to trigger the continuous tone with a switch or is what I did fine?

I want to add more to it tho. I just got the parts for the baby 10 sequencer.

I'm going to make a baby 8 sequencer to control this, an atari punk console and anything else I can.

Problem is I've never used or seen one besides youtube, and I don't know how to use it really. I would connect the CV out to the CV in here: .

But I need something to trigger the thing too right? The baby 8 would be changing the pitch or envelope while the trigger would be the actual rhythm?? How would you be able to sync up the baby 8 and the trigger at the same time?

Basically, I just want to have the thing play cool arpeggios or drones or rythms automatically while I play drums. and also be able to press the switch and control it manually by playing with the pitch controls. Am I on the right track? I don't know wherte to start looking for a trigger circuit. I've seen the baby 10 working with an atari punk console...

thanks for reading.

did this ages ago: http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=94909.0;

think it does kinda what you want. still need to finish it - have added a simple tap tempo since. hope that helps.

Not sure if thats what im lookin for. I dunno how itd work. I really dunno synths at all. Not the first thing.

Heres an audio clip of the original bass box being triggered and stuff.

Im just confused because i have to hook the thing up to two sequencers? Am i correct? If i just built two baby 8s would that cover it?

EDIT: i just finished playing with it on the breadboard and its starting to mess up again. This time instead of dying, the volune is going down and theres some crackle. This is only when pressing the footswitch and grounding pin 2 of IC2 to get the sustained tones. I dunno if a diode is messing up or one of the transistors. Should i not be doing this? I wouldve built it already if it werent for this problem. I'm not sure how to properly do this.
