Multi-Face inspired Flip-flop switching?

Hey guys,

I'm looking to play with a few pedal designs inspired by the Multi-Face article on home-wrecker.com.  I'd like to try using a CMOS flip-flop with a momentary switch to control signal routing to various components.  I've looked around for a bit for examples of this being done, but so far come up empty. 

Does anyone know of a project that demonstrates this?
