Any ideas about how to get the hum and ticking issues resolved are greatly appreciated! Thank you.

HUM: Is your power supply regulated? This effect really needs as clean of a power supply as possible. That is why EHX provided them with originals. Also, boxing the effect might help with this too.

Yeh, I know this thread has been dead for a couple of years but my build has remained on my board for all that time and I'd just accepted there was a slight ticking and swishing whenever the effect is switched on, even with no guitar plugged in. A 9v battery gave the same effect so I'd presumed the issue was the pedal.

Recent changes to my board required an isolated supply for the Gilmour and now everything is super quiet. It's taken me 2 years to get to this stage ::)

And a further couple of years to swap round the colour and range pots in my enclosure. (I think the original pcb layout might have them labelled incorrectly?)

Still on my pedalboard, still loving it!

Pity the original build docs are now unavailable - they were the best I've ever used. I'd repost it but my only copy is in acrobat on a very old iPad without the ability to export in any way :(

Are you talking about the RD5106 version? I have a copy of the build docs for it from GGBB.

I'd love to receive a copy - that old iPad is on its last legs

Thanks for bringing this up - I'd forgotten about this. I think I used to keep it on the old aronnelson.com gallery which is now defunct. You can now find it here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/6kjocjb1rd6mzie/The_Gilmour_Build_Guide_V1b.pdf/file.

I built mine on my own pcb, to make sure there are no cross talks and so, because the original psb is a bit on the wild side. And it is quiet as far as i place it after a booster/distortion circuit. However, when i place it in front of a booster/distortion, and that is how i like it, it gets incredibly noisy again as the gainy circuit behind it amplifies the noise. The noise happens inside the chip itself i guess, and there is no way to get rid of it.
