it's the return of the dreaded phase shift oscillator. you were expert on those weren't you jimi?

I love that the gal on the cover is packing a Danelectro!

The girl/guitar on the cover was also used on the cover of the original Danelectro book, "Guitars from Neptune", and the estate of the girl in the pic took issue with it.  Needless to say, the later "Neptune Bound" book didn't use it.  I have a copy of the original 1957 mag at home.

Jimi, is this an example from your archive? Only 16 gig of this stuff just has to be worth saving....

Gotta Love this article:

Stated in the beginning:
"Layout and wiring are not especially critical."

And at the end:
"Hum: Hum can come from a variety of sources such as a poor layout of components"

???
I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

I guess editting and proof-reading didn't come into fashion until 1961 or so, eh?   :icon_lol:

You're a glutton for punishment, Jimi!   ;D

This I think is the most critical paragraph in the article:

Hooking It Up.
The vibrato is intended to be inserted or connected between the musical instrument and its amplifier. All you have to do to use it is unplug your musical instrument from its amplifier and plug it into the input jack of the vibrato. Then connect a jumper cable of convenient length between the output jack of the vibrato and the input jack of the amplifier.

yah, i have tons of stuff like this in there... anything i find either diy or music oriented tends to get added...

i LOVE weird old audio projects... sometimes ya find something real toneful, other times... not so much!!

but it's all cool, cuz i tend to learn a little from every thing i look at.. and when i realize i've looked at over 34,000 files... at least... i realize what a no-life loser i REALLY am.

I bet 12 cents that it works better if R9 returns to cathode not ground.

Rate-range is less than an octave, meaning it won't sync some beat-rates.

Choke filtering is extreme over-kill. A 10K works about as well for much less.

Can I have a photocopy of your brain?

Why? So you can reverse engineer it and build a clone with discrete components?

Have this been verified? Hate when there's errors is schematics people post and you waste a load of components on something that doesn't work as expected, wouldn't wanna end up with a dead astronaut or something like that  :icon_mrgreen:
