I want to build an fuzz octave up + down......inside my guitar. I want it to be a fuzz activated by a push/pull pot and the octave on an on/off/on switch so I can flick between octave down, normal and octave up. I want all of this to be true bypass so it doesn't interfere with my signal and tone unless its on....the only problem is I'm hopeless at electronics....I'm going to pay to get some mods and wiring done and I would like to ask the guy to put this in my guitar. So is it possible? What needs to be done? How complicated is it? And how would I design a schematic? Thanks

Fuzzy octave up or down is quite easy (clean octave is hard): There are loads of examples of both on the internet, here are two of the most simple-yet-effective -

Gus Smalley's Octave up sick box:

I'm not sure why you would want put this inside a guitar, though - Far easier to put them both in one box with a switch for each circuit, so you have room for control knobs rather than adding extra controls to the body of the guitar, or having only one setting.

Octave circuits are huge.... I don't see them fitting in a guitar cavity.

Madbean's lowrider is a Pearl Octaver clone. It does what you're looking for, with an extra octave down.

I think it probably is gonna be easier just to put it in a pedal. I just figured I had an extra knob so why not do something wild, I think I'm just gonna add a fuzz circuit like on the old Vox guitars from the 60's
