I connected the Arion Stereo Chorus to the power supply that I was using to power two PNP fuzz face pedals. Now the LED check light on the pedal doesn't come on and the pedal doesn't work. Will connecting the Arion chorus pedal to the PNP power supply cause this problem? Or is this a coincidence?  Also, the top part of the soft plastic battery clip seems to be melted in two spots above the contacts. There are a couple of diodes that are next to the power jack; one says D1 one says ZD1. Are these the likely culprits? Thanks for any suggestions that may help me identify the problem.

Did you check that the voltage and polarity of the power supply plug was the same as what the Arion pedal requires? Either way, I think even Arion pedals had a protection diode, though it's no guarantee you won't get damage. You're going to need to find a schematic and do some troubleshooting.

the pedal has a parallel diode,D1 ,for protection, the ZD1 zener is for the led.
This kind of reverse polarity protection has a sense only if you use a power supply that has its own short circuit protection.
I recently experienced a similar problem, but with alternate current, the supply went on and on until the diode burned up and once out of the circuit even the opamp went south.
For sure you have to check anything inside, opamps ,logic flip flop,Electrolytics.
