How can i use my tonebender mk 2 ( pnp germ ) with my "standard" power supply, negative ground one? What do i need to make in order for that to work?

If it is wired as per standard wiring schemes it should work just fine as is.

You mean connect + to the ground and - to power? But wouldn't that cause problems when interacting with other pedals connected to that power supply?

You would need to build in a charge pump circuit to generate -9 volts for your power rail. It's a simple one IC chip and two electrolytic capacitor circuit. Many people recommend the Maxx 1044 chip, but I prefer a 7660SCL myself. There are threads here that talk about it, but you can also look here:

Yes. You do not need a charge pump at all to use a standard supply. Wire it up as a standard PNP MK2. You power supply will work just fine as is. The only time you need a charge pump is to daisy chain the effect with other pedals that have the standard negative ground. Just use this wiring diagram.

yah 7660 is the same.

you DO need a charge pump if you wanna daisy chain the pedals, if i'm reading this right.

Soooooo, would the above diagram Fromm GGG also apply to the Fuzz Face I built from GGG?  Mine is the boutique 60's ver., PNP, and negative grounded (although currently not working, so I am debugging it).

Thanks!

yah, same deal. you can either put one in each pedal, or put one in a box with a couple positve ground outlets, but make sure they are insulated from the case and/or npn pedals or it'll short everything out.

i've heard you can run pnp's backwards with no issues from some people, but haven't tried it.

I can find  7660 SCPA, no SCL in my area. Will that be an issue?

I can;t seem to find any 7660scl datasheet. I've found 7660scpa but no scl.

The original question simply asked how you implement a standard power supply with a positive ground MK2. The answer is wire it as per usual - nothing extra or different is required.

Daisy chaining PNP and NPN effects is an entirely different question.

I think you can buy the 7660SCPA or equivalents from Mouser for less than the Max1044.

My bad, I got those trailing letters wrong. The important thing is it must have the S after the numbers. What you found will work great. And yes, the pin out is the same ad the 1044.
