Hi guys. I'm a simple diy'er hobbyist  so go easy on me. My knowledge about building pedals aren't the best :). A friend of mine asked to build for him a treble booster to emulate as much possible Rory Gallagher's tone and  maybe Brian may's. Now i'm getting a bit confused as a have a bunch of schematics for a rangemaster (for example) and Brian May's treble booster all of them having very small changes between them regarding materials (4n7-6n8 input cap and and a resistor from 6k8- 10k). I know its a bit difficult to answer without having a schematic and i will be delighted to send them in private if someone want to help. but my main question is :would i benefit much building a positive ground TB or it doesnt worth it? would make big difference with a pnp tran rather than npn? BTW i can make a +9vdc to - 9vdc voltage inverter to run it with usuall psu. Sould i build a rangemaster clone or should i go for the Cornish TB? I think i do have somewhere around a couple of bc182 Cornish TB seems to have and a couple oc44 as well as 2n5088, 2n2907a. which one is best suitable?
Again thanks for looking at this and sorry for the noob questions.
Harris.

NPN is easier to power.

Those resistors are different because they affect the biasing.

The input cap is different because the original effect used a 5nF cap, which is tough to get.
