Hey all,

So I have this schematic for a 3 output tap tempo.

I would love to have an LED that tracks the taps. I know I would need a microcontroller or something but I can't seem to find anything online that doesn't relate to adding tap to a delay or trem.

Thoughts?

not entirely sure what you are asking for here - is this to interface with 3 (commercial?) pedals that already have tap tempo functionality with jack input for a tap switch, which would not require a uc, or for a stand alone tap tempo clock generator with 3 outputs, which would require a uc?

if the former (do the 3 pedals not have their own indicators that a tap has been detected?) then a 4dpt momentary switch, with the extra pole to power the led on each tap, could be one solution - the led indicating that the switch has indeed made contact but it would not continue to blink in sync, only when the switch is active. to have it continue to blink without you tapping would require a uc but sync would drift as the 3 pedals internal clocks/timers are independent of each other.

The former, to send a tempo to multiple devices that already have tap tempo functionality. 2 of the pedals are Strymon pedals would need TRS cables and I think they require a momentary switch.

so would a 4pdt momentary switch (not sure how common these are?*) as described above work as you imagined or would you require the led to continue to blink in sync with the tapped tempo?

*guess you could make your own with 4 pcb mount spst tactile switches and a little mechanical ingenuity or look into using a transistor switch off one of the 3pdt connections? if blinking syncing were required you may be looking at hacking one of your pedals to run an led out to your tap box? ah - looks like the strymon tap box is passive taking power from the trs (tip tap signal, ring led power, sleeve ground? guessing) connection for its led indicator. have you managed to track down any schematics for the pedals you wish to interface? connect a naked stereo jack plug to your pedal and multimeter it for clues if not.
