hey so I've been thinking of a simple setup that goes like this.....

guitar ----> stompboxes (act as preamp) ----> 1W power amp -----> cab sim

Just working out the last step now... am planning to build the 'multicab sim' for the speaker simulation, and was wondering....supposing instead of connecting my 1W 386 power amp output to the input of the speaker sim, if I connect the output of a 30-50 watt amplifier head (so I can take it direct), won't that fry the speaker simulation circuit? what steps to I have to take to avoid this...do I have to up the specifications on all the resistors and caps used in the speaker sim, or can there be some other easier solution?
Thanks,
J.

isnt the cab sim made to go before the power amp?
Ma throats as dry as an overcooked kipper.

I really don't know.... what I had imagined was that I could use the speaker sim as a kind of 'line out' for a 30 watt (or more) amp head....

The speaker sim takes the place of the power amp.  If the power amp adds coloration that you like, you could plug the speaker sim into the output of a line out box.  But the speaker sim is not a line out box in itself. The speaker out of a 30 watt head will probably fry it.
