OSH Park seems to be the winner so far at $1/sq in. does anyone know anywhere cheaper in the US? or has anyone in the US had a positive experience with a fab shop in china or europe? thanks.

I don't know if OSH park is the cheapest, but I am really happy with the quality for the price. The fact that they accept native EAGLE files means I don't get the chance to screw up my gerber files. It takes about 3 weeks for me to get my boards in Canada, but that is not a big deal for me personally.

i found a site called http://www.seeedstudio.com/ and their prices are absurdly cheap. cheap enough to take a chance on. i just ordered 10 boards that can be a max of 10cm x 15cm for $56 USD shipped! they are made in Hong Kong though, but hopefully they are good enough quality.

The last quote I received from these guys was insanely cheap.

Since we can now see Earth from space it seems absurd to think so colonially these days. :P

I'm in Oz so techncaly disqualified from answering, but... though OSH is cool, I use iTead.
Cheeper, fast and good to deal with.

Requires gerbers and is Chinese, if that's a problem. :icon_neutral:

It really depends on how many boards you want I think.

These guys are local to me and have been good.  Pricing is generally reasonable.

Not as cheap as China, but if you want a fab company in the US, they qualify.

OSH Park is great too, but as others have mentioned, also China fab.

They are local to me as well...about 6 miles away. I haven't used them yet, but have been in communication a few times. Really solid to work with in the planning stages so far.

wow. twisted traces is sky high expensive. my board there would be about $96 per board. oshpark would be 18, seeedstudio is almost 6 for a 3.4x4.9 inch board @ 10 boards an order.

original idea behind a US preference was turnaround time and reliability for the money involved for a first timer. but i can eat $56 bucks if seeedstudio turns out to be a dud.

kodiakklub

iTead is almost $7 a board and looks a little more reliable. i will keep them in mind for the next run.

here's the current link to their shopping cart site: http://imall.iteadstudio.com/open-pcb/pcb-prototyping.html

I'm really not understanding their pricing. I put in a 2x2 board on a co-op panel and it came out to $72. That looks like it ought to be a set-up cost for a full run, plus whatever each board costs, but there's no description of how many PCBs you get, or a way to get more an automatic quote for more than one PCB. OSH Park's closer to $12 for three boards on a co-op panel. What did you pay and for how many PCBs?

the default is 3 boards for TT. if you hit the "ignore" button the page will reload and you put in your dimensions again but there will be a quantity box above the price

Holy crap. It really is like $70 a board. I don't think they're doing a good job competing, as they say, on price with their East Asian competitors.  :icon_neutral:

or even their american competitors  ???

where do you get yours done midway?

therecordingart

I think you guys are misunderstanding the pricing on Twisted Traces. One 11x17 board is $295. Two 11x17 boards is $315. How many of your 2x2 circuits can you fit on an 11x17 board?

Govmnt_Lacky

Comes out to be about 46 of them.

Which means about $6.40/per baord at 2x2.

With my math at least...  ::)

The more boards you order the cheaper it gets. Like ridiculously cheap.

@recordingart: i believe you are referring to the prototype page. if you go to the prototype page, you can fill up 1 board as much as you can for $295 with a "working area 9" X 15"". i can only fit 1 of my boards in a 9x15 area for a total of $295 per board. on the coop page, 1 of my boards would be $96.20. no matter how i slice it, TT is a fortune for me comparatively.

EDIT: sorry, 2 boards fit on a 9 x 15. so about 150 per board

according to their math, they can fit 7 @ 2x2 boards on one 9x15 sheet aka working area for 295 / 7 = 42.14 per 2x2 board

For a 10cmx10cm its only $25 for 10 peices!! Is that right?
