Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum. And have a question regarding modding Pigtronix Envelope Phaser version 2.

I saw on youtube this video, where was explained how to install a volume pot into any pedal:

Explanation starts at 01:20. output goes to lag 3 of the pot, lag 1 goes to ground, and lag 2 is the new output. Sounds pretty simple, but the problem is I don't know where are the ground and output pins on the output jack in the pedal. Btw it's 1/4" Audio Female Panel Mount MIC Output as far as I found out in the web.

I'm including pictures of pedal (pcb and output jack itself), so may be someone could help me identifying ground and output pins? Would be much appreciated since I've dreaming for ages of adding a volume control to this pedal. It's quite louder than unity gain when engaged.

Many thanks,
Vasya

Stick the plug in the jack. What touches what?

The diagonal wire IS a complication. If you watch the fingers on the other side of the jack, you will see what it does. However this connection is MUCH more likely to be on an INput jack. You want the OUTput jack (I think). Be sure you know which is which.

That's a definitely output jack. Used it as an output jack and it has a label of an output jack on the enclosure)

So, do you think I should stick to the rule that sleeve is ground and tip is output, or diagonal wire messes it all up?

Yep. That's a switching jack, so I bet the diagonal wire just connects the output to ground when nothing is plugged in, or something along those lines. You're safe to assume tip is output.
