Any sources for interesting or non-standard or pedal enclosures?

Hello - does anyone know of any online source for non-standard pedal enclosures?  I'm not looking for anything crazy - just something to add a little variety to my completed builds.  Are there any online sources for unloaded generic boss-style enclosures. I've found some really cheesey brands of pedals that are cheap enough to buy just for the enclosure, but I'm not sure those enclosures would work for a DIY build.

Thanks - any information is appreciated.

I've been thinking about placing an order here to try out a few different shapes and sizes:

Looks like they've got some nice boxes. I was considering making a multi-fx board built into an amp chassis, but I might just wind up getting something from here instead.

I've been idly wondering about building a gigging pedalboard/multi-fx into one of these:

Probably Fuzz > overdrive > boost > delay, with 3pdts and LEDs for each effect and a built in power supply with mains lead coming out of the back.

I've never seen one in the flesh though, so for all I know they might be too flimsy for that application.

There's always the option to brace the inside if it has a little too much "give" in the middle.

I was looking at some of these Hammond enclosures for instrument/tester housings. The ventilated models would be especially useful for applications requiring transformers.

The only downside to Hammond enclosures is the price!
They are very expensive for what they are......mass produced, folded, punched, sheet metal goods.

Must be a union outfit!
I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

Pedalenclosures have a variety of interesting options, great quality and you pay for it.

There's also Small Bear's Bare Box(?) for something a bit different.

I think it was Mac Walker who has had stuff available in the past so watch for him as well.

I keep getting it hammered into my furry head that Not everyone has seen the Bare Box #1:

I think that this is what you want, hope you'll give it a try. Till Labor Day, it comes with a made-to-measure pad-per-hole perfboard n/c:

Thanks for the plug!

I actually just did a run of 140 of the wedge enclosures yesterday, I'll be posting details once I get about half of them built up, in about a week or so!

This is the old link if anyone else is interested in a more vintagey style, sloped  box, if so you can bookmark it, I'll be reposting there.....

Quick question on this - how important is it for the enclosure to be metal ?  I know it has to be physically strong enough for "stomping", but does the metal enclosure provide any shielding or other benefits?

Yes, if the enclosure is metal and grounded, it will shield the circuit inside. If you use something like plastic or wood, you might want to line the inside of it with copper or tine foil tape.
