Rat Mistake

I just made another rat and accidentaly tied lug 1 of distortion pot to ground.
I got a sort of octave effect with a bit of wah.
Very differant.
try it and see.

Likely because you're  throwing off the DC bias voltage, slamming the opamp into one of the rails.

I love mistakes like that. I messed up a Slacktave and it sounded just like a Mid Fi Glitch Computer. I wish I could remember exactly what I did.

I did a little crappy recording earlier with it both ways and im mistaken again the pin 1 of distortion pot is tied to the positive side of the 4.7uf cap seen in the tone pad layout top left corner.
As soon as i get this recording transfered from the R"R to my daw i'll put it up on drop box.
It has a wierd sort of octaving effect and freqauncy sweep when you turn the dist pot.

Hmm I'm not really hearing the effect you speak of in there.

Me too. I didn't hear it. I thought it would be more pronounced.

The Rat kinda has a "%^&*ed wah" sound to it naturally. Didn't hear the Octave effect though.

I'll see if I can find a more demonstrative piece of tape . I don't think I included the proper rat sound for comparison either,
