I know tha i must have ideally 4.5v on the collector, what about base voltage? What would be ideal?

You have the wrong concept.

The "ideal" voltages depend on what you're trying to do. The question has no meaning outside of the circuit you're referring to.

Got a schematic?

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

It is just a simple booster/overdrive with one 2N5088,one gain, one volume control. The original resistor values was 4.7K for the collector and 2M for the base but those values did not work for my 2N5088.I changed the 4.7K to 1.8K and now i have 4.5v at the collector.Should i change the 2M too?If so what voltage i am going after?

I have

2N5089 ..... hFE 570
2N5089 ..... hFE 450
2N3904 ..... hFE 215
2N4401 ..... hFE 230
BC239C ..... hFE 7

and i am going to install them in big muff rams head.
I need it to sound heavy distortion, lots of harmonic, long sustain, growl like angry.
What do you suggest for the Q1,2,3,4 ?
Thank you in advance.
