Hello Everyone,

I'm just getting started with pedal building and have been able to source just about everything I need for a few projects. The only thing I'm having issues with are power supplies for pedals. I know it makes a difference as far as the regulation of the supply goes so I figured I'd ask around here for what people are using to power their pedals. I'm located in Canada so something offered by Digikey would be super convenient. I've gone through what they offer and there are just so many options I'd prefer someone's tested suggestion here.

Any and all info would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Neill

I don't know about the 18v adaptors, but for regulated 9v adaptors I like the Danelectro one (DA-1 I think), it only costs between $7-9 (in the U.S.) and seems to be just as good as the more expensive ones (like Boss, etc.).

We ship to Canada routinely, and we will use the USPS so that you don't get nailed by Customs brokerage fees. Unless their policies have changed, Mouser and Digikey insist on courier shipping, which adds a lot of expense.

Canada's kinda big but if you're anywhere near Toronto, Active Surplus on Queen St. has bins of options.

why not get yourself an ordinary plugpak, from anything, and build yourself a regulator the way you want it? good like an expensive boss, but cheap.

Thanks for the suggestions so far guys. For some clarification the reason I'm suggesting a source like Digikey is because the company I work for would cover shipping because we have regular orders come in from that supplier. Also my goal would be to have a standard supply I could package with pedals if I start selling them.
