Dual A/B Switcher

I want to squeeze 2 A/B's onto one switch.  Need to be able to switch up my signal path on the fly when switching from acoustic to electric.

I've been looking at the Beavis Audio diagram and I don't understand why Sleeve A would connect to Tip B (and vice versa)? 

so to do a dual i'd need a 4pdt but is there still a way to squeeze a dual color LED in there?

I'm sorry if i'm asking stupid questions... i've just started getting back into diy stompboxing and i've forgotten A LOT!

It needs to ground whatever signal it's not using. so when one is active the other output is grounded. Unless I missed what you were talking about entirely.

yes that does answer my question... but why does it need to ground to the inactive output?

I think it to keep popping and/or noise out of the equation but I'm not 100%.

Like an amp having no input cable plugged in (assuming it doesn't have a switching jack on the inside already)

Why would you want TWO A/Bs in one box. What is going in and what are you switching between.

It's kinda hard to explain. I'd have to draw up a diagram but basically I use my board for both acoustic and electric and want to be able to switch routing on the fly with one pedal. My acoustic would go directly into my preamp and then the effects would be in the effects loop. The electric would go thru the effects then to a sonic stomp then out to my amp

So s two amp setup with input for acoustic and guitar muting one or the other?

This will sort of do what you want, it will let you put your pedals in the FX loop of the acoustic amp or between the electric guitar and the sonic stomp. The bit in the middle that says mod factor is where your pedals would go. This needs a 4PDT and you don't get a LED but a LED doesn't serve much purpose anyway apart from looking cool, there's only two settings and if you can't remember which one you've selected you probably wouldn't remember what the LED was telling you

To stop any noise from the side you're not using turn down the volume on the relevant guitar.



You might get earth loop problems with this setup because you'll be connecting the grounds of the acoustic and electric rigs, may or may not be a problem.

I could probably make it with 2 2 switches placed incredibly close to each other so I stomp em together. That would probably get rid of any possible noise/grounding issues and I could have my led
