Thanks I've used bitsbox many times before.
Anyone found a little bit cheaper ones?

Try Banzai. EDIT: Actually, das Musikding is what I was thinking of, not Banzai.

How many do you need? I'm pretty sure I have some in my stash.

Musikding have them for €1.30.  Postage would be daft for a single one, but if you put together a big-ish order, it gets reasonable.  And right now, they have free shipping for orders over €50 (until the end of the month).  I wish I'd known this a couple of weeks ago when I put in an order for a sh!tload of 9mm pots...   :icon_neutral:

For what it's worth  - I have recently had a couple of good expereinces with das Musikding, and their shipping now only seems to take 5-7 days. They are the best place to get Belton bricks into the UK too, which might be appealing if you are feeling a lack of reverb in your life.

All that said. If you need a pot for Jon's compressor, have you tried a B1k pot or B2k with 2.2k across it?

Thanks guys some really helpful stuff there.
Account made with our german friends now.
I did try the 2kB with 2k2 or 2k7 across the lugs on Jons compressor but its a PITA getting the right setting easily so hence why i'd like to try a 1k rev pot
Cheers

Doctor tweek does some reverse log, sadly not C1k yet. You could always stick a 1k log in backwards to see if the range is dramatically improved enough to warrant buying a reverse log.

Banzai and Musikding. Worth noting though that I made orders with both on 15th August, my Banzai order arrived on the 20th - the same day I got an email from Musikding saying my order had now been shipped. Banzai wins for me over Musikding wherever possible now...

I've ordered from both in the past, and I remember Banzai was about a week quicker in terms of delivery.

If you can't find the reverse log pot in the value you want, I would agree that it would be a good idea to just use a log pot of the same value, and wire it backwards.  It will have the same effect as a reverse log pot, only it will work backwards (like the tone pot on a Rat pedal).  You'll get used to turning it the "other way" after a while.

I suggest you read this http://sound.westhost.com/project01.htm by Rod Elliott.  No one should ever need BUY a Log/Alog pot again when you can make your own.

MrStab

i'm unsure if there's some aversion to ebay or not, but upon a quick search, there seem to be a few "top-rated", UK-based sellers offering C1Ks. just choose "Price + P&P: lowest first" if you're a scumbag like me. lol

in fact, as it stands, if you do just that then the 2nd one down is listing a variety of only reverse-log pots.

Still don't know what's wrong with Tayda for these unless you need 9mm.
