Found a really cool box, any ideas for the pre-drilled holes?

Admittedly a total impulse buy, but I really love the look of these hammond wedge things.

Any good ideas for what I might do with the 3x3 mini holes?

The hole on the back of it is the perfect size for a MIDI jack, but I wouldn't know how to build a MIDI interface.

I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

Put a little speaker behind them and turn in into a mini-monitor/practice amp.  Maybe add a headphone out.

Could do like a VU meter style thing with LEDs, and have the bottom left LED being the lowest, and the top right one being the highest unit?

Or depending on what the effect is, link a pot and have the resistance change the speed of a LED ring kit like this:

Maybe too flashy, but first idea that came to mind. :)

good ideas! 9 LEDs will come in handy if I muster the confidence for a MIDI device of some sort. I'm thinking maybe arduino or this brain jr thing:  http://shop.lividinstruments.com/brain-jr/.
Seems possible to make a simple MIDI LFO box, I'm still researching it but if possible I want to somehow have a MIDI controlled carrier frequency on an analog ring modulator as I have a handful of CA3080Es lying around
