Gus

My xp system motherboard stopped working after 10 years so I am using another system with ubuntu 12.04 64.

I am using wine to run lt spice and the ctrl keys are not working in lt spice in wine. The crtl key work when not in lt spice in wine.

I searched for this issue and have not found a match for this I found other crtl key issues but no fix for my issue.

I will keep searching but I thought I would ask if anyone here has seen this and has a fix

Gus,

did you have a look at
http://www.winehq.org/

search for (LT) spice

I noticed there were several reports on problems with spice, may be there is some information that is relevant to your problems.
You also might have a look at your wine configuration, there should be a Wine configuration menu. I do not use wine myself, so I can not be of further help, alas.

Bit of a long shot but in LTSpice check Tools >> Contol panel >> Drafting options >> Hot keys to see if they're configured correctly. Afraid I can't be any more help, I use wine and LTSpice, not with Ubuntu though, and have never had that problem

I did not see the ctrl m in hot keys that is not working for a new line in "text on the schematic" window
If you don't mind can you tell me what distribution of Linux are you using LT Spice in?

I'm using Slackware 14, sorry it looks like I spoke too soon, I've just tried it and ctrl-m to add a new line of text doesn't work for me either, don't think I've ever tried to use it before. Strange because ctrl works for flipping, rotating components etc.

Found a post at the yahoo group.  control enter will give a new line.  I tried this and it worked
