I was wondering if someone could be so kind to either sell me a replacement Volume pot for my vintage Ross Comp. or send me in the right direction of where to get one. I want to get the exact same (specs) as the original. The original one broke. I know it's 50K audio taper but I need the right size so I can solder it in with no issues. I have an original (tawain) Ross. I really appreciate any help you can give. Thanks

I would imagine it's either a 24MM or a 16MM take pic of it.

Disregard red and yellow circles

Hmm that's a strange one, I don't that one on alphas site. I see some reverse pinned 16mm pots http://www.alphapotentiometers.net/html/16mm_pot_3.html

but the shaft doesn't look right.

I would just buy a Solder Lug Long shaft pot and use wire to put it through the PCB holes.

No idea what type of pot that is

I can't really tell from the picture, but if the only thing wrong with it is that the shaft has come out, it might be repairable.  Check out http://www.geofex.com/article_folders/potsecrets/potscret.htm - pictures there should give you some ideas.

Did you measure it?.  Is it 16mm or 24mm?.  It looks like a 90 degree angled pc mount pot with the two mounting brackets (like a "snap-in" pot) that hold it to the board.  Is that a "D" (flatted on one side) shaft?.   Definitely might be hard to find.  One option would be to look on Ebay for a non-working Ross pedal of the same type that you could get parts from, but you might have to save a search and keep looking for some time.

Good Luck,
Al

Yes you are correct. It is 24mm. I know it will be hard to find with the "D" but is there something similar I can make work?

If you can find a similar pot with a plain shaft, you can file off material from the top of the shaft to accept the "D" shaft knob.  Look for a 24mm 90 degree angle pc pin pot with the mounting brackets and a straight shaft (not knurled), and file the notch to make your own "D" shaft.  I think it will be difficult even to find a pot with those specs, but maybe they are out there.  Make sure you know if the shaft diameter is 6mm (might be since it appears to be an Asian-made pot) or 1/4".

You could also just get regular solder lugs and run jumpers to the board.  The shaft and bushing and how the knob fits will be the tricky part.
