Has anybody here ever modded a Electro Harmonix Qtron in this way?  Wire a jack from the gain knob so a expression pedal can be plugged into the 1/4 inch jack to control the gain on the pedal.  Is this doable or not so much?  Any advice would be great!  Thanks so much!!

Should be able too.

Using a TRS cable. And a stereo switching Jack. So when you plug in the cable the internal pot is disconnected then have the expression pedal connect to the corresponding  lugs on the expression pedal Jack

Awesome! So what I am thinking on doing is wiring from Lug #1, #2, etc.. from the PCB mounted gain pot to a stereo jack.  How do I know what lug wire goes to what parts of the jack? Like lug #1 goes to jack tip, etc... Thanks so much for the reply!!!

You just need to corelate it to the output of your expression pedal.

Also If your gain pot is used as a Voltage divider then your expression pedal needs to be the same.

Vice Versa for if the gain pot is used as a Variable resistor.

Also you would need to make sure your expression pedal's POT is the same value and same Taper if you want it to behave the same.
