User error is my guess. You have one pedal that did not work for you versus hundred+ on my end.

Have you used Valspar?

I have some - if I remember correctly it is in a white or grey can with the spheres on the front. I am not sure if it is the same as the one you are talking about, though. I also have Duplicolour and Tremclad.

As I said, they all work fine if used properly.

Edit: The only kind I have found that does not work was in a yellow can with black text. I cannot remember the brand but it looked older than the hills and was probably well past its shelf life. The coat had a slight yellow tinge to it.

I solved the problem by using a different product.

Gord - what product have you found works for you?

Yes they do - but they are not all the same.  I never said Krylon didn't "work fine" for me - the evidence is in the pictures - no bubbling, lumps, decal lifting or any problems - it looks perfect - just not that hard in comparison to Valpsar.  After 9 months of light use on and off a pedal board, it is considerably more marked up than a Valspar pedal used the same way that is a year older.  You seem to be under the impression that it didn't turn out properly for me (which it did - because I used it properly) - I'm just saying that I find it to be on the soft side compared to Valspar.  At least one other person here also found it to be soft.

It's at least worth considering using a clear powder coat. If you already have a compressor, the entry cost is fairly low.
